The same type of Surgical Stainless that the hospital would use to pin your ankle together, so you can be assured there is no risk of infection or allergic reaction. Gold and silver jewelry have nickel and other metals in them that increase the risk of infection. We highly recommend leaving your starter jewelry in for at least 8 weeks before changing it out to minimize your risk of infection.
